Biography

John Beckworth has been practicing law in Texas since 1983. A native Texan, Mr. Beckworth completed both his undergraduate and legal education at The University of Texas at Austin (B.A.1980 High Honors, J.D.1983). Following admission to the Bar, he joined the Litigation Section of Fulbright & Jaworski, L.L.P. in Houston, where he was admitted to partnership in 1992. Mr. Beckworth concentrates his work in commercial litigation, including energy and media litigation.

Mr. Beckworth is licensed to practice by the State Bar of Texas, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, the District of Arizona, the Eastern District of Michigan, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law, an Associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a member of the Houston, Texas, and American Bar Associations, and a Life Fellow of the Houston and Texas Bar Foundations. Mr. Beckworth has served as a Adjunct Professor at The University of Texas School of Law and he is a former recipient of The University of Texas School of Law's Honorary Order of the Coif. He was honored in 1999 as a University of Texas at Austin Outstanding Young Texas-Ex. Mr. Beckworth has been named a "Texas Super Lawyer" by Law and Politics for 2003-2005 and has been selected to be included in The Best Lawyers in America for 2005-2006.
