Biography
James T. Thompson was born and raised in Houston and completed both his undergraduate and legal education at the University of Texas at Austin (B.A. Plan II Honors, 1997; J.D. with honors, 2001). Prior to joining the firm in October of 2003, Mr. Thompson worked as an associate in the Austin office of Vinson & Elkins LLP. Mr. Thompson's practice focuses on commercial litigation, oil and gas litigation and renewable energy.
Mr.Thompson is licensed to practice by the State
Bar of Texas and in the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Texas.
In 2008, Mr. Thompson was recognized through voting by his peers as a Texas Rising Star for energy and natural resources and business litigation by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazine.
